Jean Richards, Program Director jrichards@mybes.org
Jean is mother to two grown daughters and grandmother to two young boys. With 40 years of combined child experience, she has been working with kids forever! Her experiences include work as a horseback riding instructor, cooking for kids, Sunday School superintendent, after school programs in Concord, Penacook, Pittsfield with the Boys and Girls club and the YMCA. She has experience with children with behavioral challenges and learning disabilities.
“My favorite thing to do with kids is to show them just how successful they can be. I believe that every child has unlimited potential and that kids just need adults in their corner cheering them on! Our after school program is all about helping families find their children’s strengths and helping them to succeed! I love kids and my position at BES”.

Joyce Parsons, Site Coordinator (Elementary)
Joyce is a mother of grown children and a grandmother who recently retired from full time employment. She volunteers with the UNH Co-op Ext. 4-H and the Barnstead Parks and Rec programs working with youth and teaching Archery Club and other skills. She enjoys spending time working with children stating it keeps her young.
"As I work with the children to assist them in acquiring new skills and knowledge I find the children remind me of wonders and things forgotten. I enjoy their stories, questions and accomplishments but also enjoy their pride when they receive a more difficult success after failed attempts.

Zachary Drouin, Site Coordinator (Middle School)
Zach is a college student attending Granite State College, studying Elementary Education. He coaches the 7/8 grade boys basketball outside of working at BAZ. There is nothing that Zach loves more than coming to work at BAZ everyday. "There is nothing better than walking into work and seeing all the smiling faces of the kids when they wave and scream hi at me."
Being an education major this opportunity has given Zach so many experiences and so much knowledge that it will definitely help him in the future in becoming a teacher. "Working with kids everyday definitely gives me help and skill on when I become a full-time teacher in the future." Zach hopes someday that he will be a third grade teacher and a high school or college basketball coach.
